The Fire that is Ayla Bart_male_gray_wolf
The Fire that is Ayla Textsp13

Ɓαѕıcѕ

Name Meaning:
'Moonlight'

Gender:
Female

Nickname(s):
Ay - though she doesn't often respond well to nicknames.

Rank:
General

Age:
An entirety of three years

The Fire that is Ayla Tumblr_lae4apztZZ1qbhyb9o1_500

Ƥɦყรɪcმl

Build:
Ayla stands slightly taller than the average female of her age with quite a lithe build made of lean but powerful muscle. She has the skill and power to hold her own in a fight, but she is best at agility and running - more of your athletic warrior type as opposed to brutish defender.

Coat:(Length)
Ayla's coat is longer than the average wolf's, though not by an incredible amount. It is also rather silky, and despite it's sleek appearance, it is actually rather dense and thick, perfect for snowy conditions.

Fur Color:
Ayla's base coat is a pure, snow-white that flows uninterrupted across her whole body. Across the tips of her top coat across her neck, shoulders, back and rump is a silvery star-dust colour that is most visible in the moonlight and almost impossible to see in broad daylight. This gives her excellent snow cover.

Eye Color:
Ayla has fire-like orbs that are a raw mixture of a molten gold, burnished amber and an almost reddish ochre that swirl together in such a pattern that one is almost convinced that they are balls of fire.

Markings:
The only colour [aside from her 'stardust' covering] that interrupts the white of Ayla's pelt is a grey on her ears - it looks as though the tips have been dipped in ash, the darker colour then fading into the white.

Scars:
Multiple scars blemish her otherwise smooth skin, though they are thoughroughly covered by fur.

Socιαℓ

Mate:
No-one has been able to tame her fiery heart.
Not to mention that the whole idea of tying oneself down seems utterly absurd to her.

Family:

:: Mother ::
Unknown.
Died shortly after Ayla's birth in battle.

:: Father ::
Unknown.
Died shortly after Ayla's birth in battle.

:: Brother ::
-- Logan --
A wolf with a coat a glorious mixture of a dark, ashen grey and a depthless black and eyes equally as firey as Ayla's.
Ayla and her brother were very close, the reason for his disappearance is unknown to others and no one is sure if he still lives or not.

Friends:
Few and far between.
You have to greatly impress her to find yourself with the honor of being listed here.

Enemies:
Just about anyone who comes within an inch of her bad side, and that's not hard to do. But if we're going to get specific, the Aronnati, particularly Duccaro.

Crushes:
She would hardly stoop to fawning over someone and considering them a 'crush'.

The Fire that is Ayla 10522

Ɗєρէɦ

Personality:
If one were to describe Ayla in one word, it would be proud. She has a fiery heart and fierce demeanor that many often mistake for outright arrogance. Though she isn’t overly dominant and leading others isn’t exactly what she ever planned to do, this fae is far from submissive, rarely [if ever] simply lying down and let another wolf tell her what to do, instead being her own boss. She can be competitive and at times simply boorish in her effort to prove herself as more than just a petite and pretty she-wolf and rather a warrior in her own right. She can also lie herself in or out of anything, her tongue being quick and giving her the ability to lie as surely as if she were saying the sun rises in the east.

Because of this few wolves [aside from her brother Logan] have ever bothered to hang around her for very long and as a result her social skills are a little rusty and when dealing with other wolves her actions can seem a little odd and an action she may smile at you for one day, she might rip your ear off for doing the next. However, once growing more comfortable around others she can become much more laid back, though her sharp tongue and excessive sarcasm never make a complete departure. She may even go to the point of making ‘friends’, if thoroughly convinced that you're not a threat, though she is careful not to get close to others. Even though she is intelligent, she doesn't always think things through when it comes to those she cares about [though she would never admit caring for them] because she is very protective of them.

Living on the edge also comes naturally to her, having had quite a few near-death experiences whether it be from an attempt to entertain herself or trying to protect another. She’s not afraid of putting her life on the line to help someone she cares for in need but is strongly against a wolf doing the same for her as she believes she can take care of herself.

Almost no one ever actually knows what she's feeling or what she's thinking for she will rarely let anyone know what's truly on her mind. In fact, when others think about it, they know very little about her or her past and when questioned she often changes the subject without them noticing or just walks away. She refuses to get close to anyone and will often shy away from those trying to comfort her, snapping at any who dare feel sympathetic or generally too friendly towards her, being so intent on remaining independent.

In short, Ayla is a puzzle of a wolf who is proud, independant, fiery and sarcastic but with a deep-rooted sense of loyalty and protection there for those few that earn her trust.

History:

For Ayla, her history is quite a touchy subject and thus, few ever find out. All that most ever know is that it is shadowed and blood-stained, not a cheery topic, and that aspects of it have driven her to become fierce and warrior like, also feeling as though she has to prove herself. She will never describe it in full, or in great detail, but I thought for those few curious souls out there I’d give you some insight into what it was like.

= Ayla
= Logan
= Aronnati (in general)
= Duccaro
= Raneiro
= Callisto

Let’s start at the beginning, shall we?

First, there was Altair. He was a strong and handsome male born as first son to the Valkyrenn Pack leaders and next in line as Alpha. They were already a successful pack full of skilled warriors and well-trained hunters when Altair was put in power. They seemed to grow stronger under his stern but just rule, though he realised he needed something more. Almost as if on cue, Elayne came stumbling into the territory, as proud as any but with a heart as large and welcoming as the springtime. They raised many a litter amongst the pack, growing stronger and wiser, but equally more despised by surrounding packs who were not as successful as they, frequent border skirmishes arising. The Valkyrren were bold and fierce fighters though, quite capable of holding their own in any fight.

Winter clung on well into early spring the year Ayla was born. Frost lined the walls of the den and of the six birthed, only three survived the first night, despite the fact that they were of blood very much used to dealing with cold. Their mother’s warmth was safe and comforting in those first few weeks with the other two pups, though Ayla never got the chance to learn their names as by the time her ears and eyes opened, it was only her and her mother left in the den. When she asked all Elayne would tell her is that they were in a better place. Peace remained only long enough for Ayla to learn her name and to discover her insane desire to leave the den, though her mother would not let her before it was the right time. That ‘right time’ never arrived.

The jealous packs had conspired against the Valkyrenn, joining forces in a surprise attack and using dirty tactics to overwhelm them. Ayla listened from the den as her family was slaughtered right outside, the sounds having scarred her now for life. Logan, her older brother from the previous litter, was a fierce fighter but was ordered by Altair to save Ayla, and so he did. The yearling somehow managed to whisk her away without getting caught, his family fighting to keep the rivals at bay just long enough, and the two made it out without any serious injury.

Logan himself was only young, and now with a pup in tow it was hard going, but by some stroke of luck, the two managed to survive. Ayla was a strong pup of good blood so her body managed the switch to solids earlier than most, as it was all her brother could provide. He became her everything. He became more than just the loyal brother he was, but like a father, protective, wise and able to make her laugh; like a mother, a shoulder to cry on when she needed it and providing unconditional love; like that crazy old uncle who could always make her laugh. He was her family, and she never regretted a moment spent with him.

She was less than a few months old when she first asked about fighting. After witnessing the death of her pack, of course the pup had the instinctive urge to defend herself, and Logan would not deny her that. She was a quick learner and by the time she was ten months old, she was quite the fighter with a figure well built for the hard-ships of travel and survival. This was probably the best thing for her, as it was not long before they were found by the Aronnati.

Okay, before I continue, I'll straighten a few things out for you, hm? The north that Ayla is from is a place few wolves of the southern regions ever tread, and so brotherhoods such as the Aronnati are never heard of to the average wolf. To the white wolves that linger up there though, they are known to all. The Aronnati is an organisation of male wolves who are known as the best warriors and best hunters in all of the territories who would scout out new members to recruit to keep their ranks filled. They are a formidable force and few dare to disobey them, being almost the 'Law' up there, dealing with unruly rogues and keeping tabs on all of the wolves to be sure there was no trouble brewing. Darker rumors also surround them, some wolves saying that they will assassinate if the right offer is made, though they can only be rumors right? They are the kind of legend that Logan grew up with, and their stories were the ones he told Ayla when she had trouble sleeping.

It was a cold night in the snow, she remembers, when the dark amber eyes first fell upon them, surrounding them. It was Logan who woke first, the rumbling snarl tearing from his throat being what tore Ayla from her dreams to find herself in a nightmare. Logan was standing over her defensively, but their hopelessness was obvious as they were outnumbered ten to one.

"Logan of Altair, we are the Aronnati. We have been watching you for a while and you have been chosen to join our sect." The words coming from the large brutes were far more elegant and sophisticated, but that was all the young female needed to know. A surge of pride swept theough the dark grey and charcoal male for he knew what an honor it was to be chosen by such a prestigious group and he voiced his agreement, nudging Ayla to her paws. "Leave the pup. She's of no use to us." Their words struck both young wolves cold. Despite Logan's immense desire to join the Aronnati, he would not leave Ayla alone, the very thought terrifying the white she-wolf.

"I would be honored to join you, but I refuse to leave my sister. It's either both of us or neither." They were brave words from any wolf, for no one dared to go against the word of the Aronnati, and for good reason. The brotherhood repeated their offer with more force; a command rather than an invitation. Again, Logan declined. This very much displeased them.

"Logan of Altair, you know not your priorities nor your place. You are coming with us." It was a deep and rumbling growl as a very large alabaster brute stepped forward, ready to haul the unco-operating wolf away if need be. Even though she was young, Ayla possessed all the pride and bravado of a wolf three times her age, though none of the wisdom as she hardly thought before stepping up.

"He said no you over-grown snowflake, so why don't you just leave him alone!" The fur on the ten month old's neck was raised in annoyance as her tail arched over her back. Her outburst surprised everyone there and there was a chilling silence that followed, the only sound being her heavy breathing as the realisation of what she had just done dawned on her. No one yelled at the Aronnati like that and lived to tell the tale.

Before Logan could take a step the large white brute launched himself at the young wolf, knocking her mercilessly to the ground with an unforgiving snarl. He bore down on her as she tried to wriggle away, over-sized paws pinning her in place as sharpened claws pierced her skin. "You worthless, wretched pup. You will pay for such heinous words!" Even as he threatened her, Ayla felt herself thinking about what a weaselly face he had, and though he was large, he didn't look nearly as formidable as the other males surrounding them, though twice as cruel. His teeth latched onto her throat and almost immediately cast pressure onto her wind-pipe as Logan's fierce growling cut through to her ears; he was fighting to get to her, but it was hopeless. She could hardly let such effort on his part to keep her alive this long go to waste.

With every ounce of strength she had, Ayla threw up her hind-quarters, pushing up on the larger wolf's stomach and causing him to grunt in pain and surprise. He briefly relinquished his hold on her throat, but it was long enough for her to snap her jaws at him, teeth cutting deeply into his muzzle and drawing a thick line of blood across the bridge of his nose. She managed to escape his hold, but only for a few seconds as he slammed her back to the ground on her stomach and she felt the blood running off of his nose to the back of her neck. "How dare you make me look like a fool!" he hissed in her ear, digging his claws firmly into her shoulder blades. "I hope you rot like the maggot you are." True terror shot through her like lightning as his canines tore into the skin of her neck, blood spots blooming like roses in her white fur as he bit down mercilessly.

"Daccuro. Stop." Ayla could feel the tension immediately take hold of the male as an aged, gravelly voice cut through the air like a whip, silencing everything within range. "Let her up." "But she-" "Now!"

With a frustrated growl, the weight was removed from the young wolf's back and she immediately scrambled to her paws, muscles tensing defensively as she looked around wildly for who had spoken. Her jaw dropped in awe as her gaze landed on the wolf in front of her, a magnificently aged specimen, wisdom shown in the silver hairs dotted across his muzzle and the regality with which he held his great height. He was a wolf of legend; Raneiro. This male was leader of all the Aronnati and only ever accompanied them in the collecting of a new member in special cases. "She deserves to die." The wolf who had attacked her growled, pulling Ayla from her stupor as she straightened up, lips twitching in a snarl but tail lowered in the presence of such a great figure.

"Silence, Duccaro." He spoke softly, but the air of command around him said it all, and the weaselly faced male shut up with a smouldering glare in her direction. "Well, pup, you certainly have guts, don't you?"

It was certainly a rhetorical question, but Ayla was not used to using manners in the presence of others, as she only knew how to live with her brother, and blurted out. "Of course I do. I can't just let you take away my brother. Especially funny-looking old wolves like him." she gestured with her tail to Duccaro, shooting him a spiteful glare while she was at it.

"You must learn when to hold your tongue." It was like thunder rumbling from his chest as he spoke and Ayla immediately cowered as he took a step forward, a couple of the more elite wolves behind him shadowing his movements. He examined her for a moment, carefully, before looking to his right, the movement immediately bringing a strong, young male to his side; his second in command. "Callisto, you are to escort these two back to Terra D'Argento. Take Illean and Kyllor with you. Once we teach these two some manners, I'm sure they'll make worthy additions to our ranks."

"But, Your Grace, the pup is a female?" She wasn't sure who voiced the question, but it seemed to be an answer needed for most of the wolves present as murmers broke out amongst the disciplined warriors.

"I am well aware of that." Raneiro stated cooly, almost in amusement, before his voice took on a far more serious tone. "And I am also well aware that she has shown more skill and courage than any of you did at her age. Our ranks are dwindling and we cannot let wolves born with such a fire in their heart go to waste." This did not seem to go down well amongst the Aronnati grouped there as small arguments began to break out, many a glare being shot Ayla's way as she did her best to pretend it didn't bother her. "If, however, she proves that it is stupidity and arrogance powering her actions, not skill, then it will be far too easy to break her neck and be done with it." He said these last words in a bid to appease his followers and they did indeed settle down, though the burning gazes did not leave her.

"You heard him. Illean, Kyllor, grab Logan and let's move out!" his voice carried across more strongly than the older male's, seeing as it was gifted with youth, and the two brutes immediately ran to do his bidding. Callisto strode forward to Ayla, watching her carefully through eyes that she could not help but notice were a stunning, sapphire blue. "You're not going to give me any trouble now, are you, Miss?" His voice was much gentler as he spoke softly, one of a gentleman, and though it held a slight threat, she knew it was only to get her to co-operate.

She swallowed as she found herself having to avert her gaze from his. "As long as I get to stay with my brother." He agreed with a slight nod before curling his tail around the back of her legs, leading her up to where the two other brutes were waiting with her brother. She greeted him quickly, 'hugging' each other as they rested their heads on the other's shoulder, before turning to watch the other three warily. Under Callisto's orders, they began the trek to Terra D'Argento, sanctuary of the Aronnati. As they walked, Ayla became aware of many things. There were approximately thirty wolves currently in the brotherhood, a far stretch from the over one hundred wolves they had been known to hold less than a few decades ago. Fewer and fewer wolves had been born with the appropriate skill-set and even less asked for their help anymore. Duccaro apparantly hated this idea and had many plans for making the Aronnati well feared and back in the position of power that they once held, Raneiro, however, knew that it was the natural order of things, and though he kept the Aronnati alive and under good command, he no longer believed in enforcing the same strict level of ruling and collecting of members. She also learned that the weasel-faced male desperately wanted the position of second, if he could not have the lead, but Callisto held it firmly and had no intention on giving it up to such a rude wolf. Ayla was surprised at the fact that the blue-eyed wolf himself was only two years olf, and despite her best efforts to keep up a proud and untouched facade, he still managed to make her laugh a few times.

The Terra D'Argento was far more magnificent than Ayla could have imagined, centered around a small but jagged mountain with a network of tunnels inside accessable by caves dotted all around the mountain-side, though each was hidden from view. Further exploration on the inside as Callisto lead them on a tour proved just how intricate the tunnel-system was with a pattern that would take her months to learn fully. She and Logan were pretty much glued together through the entire encounter, but they both listened intently to everything for it was like a dream come through to be a part of such a covenant.

Such awe and wonder only lasted for so long though before the training began. Despite the fact that she had dreamed of this for so long, the first three weeks felt like torture - and that's because it may as well have been. She was separated from Logan and put through harder training simply because she was a female and had a lot more to prove than he did. She was forced to run until her paws were raw and each breath of the icy air tore throgh her lungs, then she had to keep running.

Much to be continued.

The Fire that is Ayla 4664004316_7b77294276

Ƨłმłร მη∂ Єxłгმร

Strengths:
Her experience -- Ayla has had a lot of experience fighting and living life in the ruff so almost nothing takes her by surprise and she can think clearly in most difficult situations.
Her detachment from emotions -- some wouldn't consider this a strength but it is in her eyes for it means she can leave everything behind in the blink of an eye and not get too caught up in the deaths of others. She also thinks it means that she'll never get her feelings hurt as she won't let herself get too close to someone, but whether or not she is successful in this is another thing entirely.
Her ability to take care of herself -- Ayla has no need to depend on anybody [as far as she's concerned] which means that she is fully capable of getting most jobs done herself which leads to her asking very little of others and almost no complaining.

Weaknesses:
Lack of care for her own life -- though Ayla doesn't necessarily go out of her way to put herself in danger, she isn't always careful with her own life and sometimes [whether it is to benefit/save others or entertain herself] she can come close to loosing her life.
Her pride -- many mistake it for arrogance and decide they dislike her before they get to know her. This also leads to her having a sharp and quick tongue, often saying things without thinking and provoking other wolves.
Her secrecy -- in some sense it is a weakness as she is unwilling to share her thoughts and feelings with others so she doesn't get too close to them, which some consider unhealthy.
Her independence -- after traveling on her own for so many years Ayla has grown used to a solitary life which means that she is often reluctant to befriend others or accept their help, even when she is in dire need of it.

Talents:
- Her ability to lie without fault.
- Ayla is also quite a stealthy wolf, with many years of practice in keeping her paw steps as silent as shadows and trying to use her surroundings to her advantage, and this has come about because she has had to, in a way, become a warrior of sorts as she has had to defend for herself so she is quite skilled in attack.
- She also has the knack of appearing intimidating, even to wolves that may be larger than her, because she is so proud and fiery.

Habits:
- Her biggest habit is licking and cleaning her paws. Though she won't admit this to anyone, not even herself, it is an attempt to wash away the blood than has stained her paws a thousand times over, marks that only she can see that never seem to go away.
- Flicking her ears back when confused or annoyed.
- Saying something sarcastic when uncomfortable [though she uses sarcasm on many other occassions too].
- Shaking out her pelt when standing up [she got used to doing it when she lived in the north because of the snow and the habit never left].
